Explanation of the Calculation Method for "Teaching Performance" in Faculty Promotion
After scoring teaching performance according to MCUT's “Rules for Teaching Performance Assessment,” teachers ranked at the 5th percentile are assigned a score of 100, and those at the 60th percentile are assigned a score of 82 as the baseline for teachers ranked from 5% to 60%. Scores are then normalized based on the assessment points obtained. For teachers ranking below the 60th percentile, the baseline is set at the 60th percentile's score of 82, and scores are then normalized based on the assessment points obtained. The formula for score calculation includes:
1.Top 5%: Corresponds to score of 100.
2.5th percentile corresponds to score of 100; 60th percentile corresponds to score of 82; between 5th to 60th percentiles: Corresponds to a range of score from 100 to 82, interpolated as per Formula 1:
